Travel to Iran- Tehran – Iran Tourism
Tehran is the Capital of Iran with some of the most unique characteristics a city can have!
It is located in a subtropical zone with a Mediterranean climate (with a twist!). Uniquely, the city is surrounded by variety of climates and one can experience almost all types of weathers and temperatures within just a few hour drive.
On one hand one can take a 30 minute telecabin lift from the city to the top of Tochal mountain of the Alborz mountain range to reach a height of 3933m (12,904 ft) where you are required to take a blood pressure test before reaching the top, and on the other hand you can reach low altitude deserts such as Maranjaab, Dasht e Kavir and Khar Turan also known as Little Africa by car in couple of hours.
Crossing the Alborz mountain range, on the other side we will find the Caspian Sea with a tropical climate where many Tehranians enjoy their weekends and holidays by the sea side. Furthermore, many lakes such as Ovan and Shourmast are again within reach easily.
The list of distinctive places that one can visit within few kilometer radius of Tehran can go on, but to mention our favorites, we would like to name Dizin, Shemshak and Danbandsar ski resorts and the city of Lavasan, all located in the Alborz mountain range within 20 minutes’ drive from each other – Truly a great destination for all seasons.
Evidently, the variety of climate allows for a long list of activities including hiking, skiing, water skiing and so on.
Culturally and historically Iran has many rich cities, However, as a modern city it is safe to say Tehran is the cultural capital of the country with the most diverse ethnicity background making the claim of ‘Iran, the nation of 72’ boldly evident.
Tehran is a modern city with a young population that craves innovation and advancement. It has a great transportation system that provide service to every corner of the city either by Taxi, Bus or Metro. You can find some the most unique shops, cafes and traditional tea houses that smoothly mixes tradition with modernity. The city is kept busy and alive by the numerous places for social activities such as the Art Galleries, Museums, Restaurants, Modern buildings and event venues and the list goes on. Not to forget the famous and wonderful Bazaar. It is definitely worth to mention Baam e Tehran (Roof of Tehran) another favorite of ours where people can go take a hike and enjoy the restaurants while having the view of Tehran from the top of the city from the Alborz Mountain range. Of course Alborz provides many other excellent places such as Darband and Darakeh which are traditionally a place to go for family and friends to take a break from the busy city life.
